Art is a way of telling my story without really having to say anything at all.
I am a portrait artist and believe that all of nature and humankind are connected in some way. Although I work in many different medias, one thing is true- the art I create is dominated by texture, layers, and the contrast between gray scale and color.
Vanessa Colunga is a mixed media artist living and making art in Ogden Utah. Her works have been displayed in many galleries across Utah, including solo shows completely dedicated to her work. She has been featured in local magazines, newspapers, and other news articles and sat on the panel of artists for the traveling Smithsonian exhibit, "The Way We Worked"-Art as a Profession. Vanessa has also won the best community artist award in her hometown of Ogden.
